LEAD ENGINEER-SOFTWARE TEST&RELEASE

Responsibilities:

1. Person at this position takes ownership of a module and associated quality and delivery, providing instructions, guidance, and advice to team members to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
2. Instruct and review the quality of work done by technical staff.
3. Identify key issues and challenges independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver results with minimal direction and supervision.
4. Investigate the root cause of problems and propose alternatives/solutions based on sound technical foundations gained through in-depth knowledge of technology, standards, tools, and processes.
5. Organize and draw connections among ideas, distinguishing between those that are implementable.
6. Demonstrate flexibility in resolving problems/issues, showing in-depth command of all techniques, processes, tools, and standards within the relevant field of specialization.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for requirement analysis and feasibility study, including system-level work estimation while considering risk identification and mitigation.
2. Responsible for design, coding, testing, bug fixing, documentation, and technical support in the assigned area, ensuring on-time delivery while adhering to quality and productivity goals.
3. Ensure traceability of the requirements from design to delivery, code optimization, and coverage.
4. Conduct reviews, identify risks, and take ownership of the quality of deliverables.
5. Identify training needs of the team.
6. Enhance technical capabilities by attending trainings, self-study, and periodic technical assessments.
7. Participate in technical initiatives related to projects and organizations and deliver training as per plan and quality.
8. Act as a technical mentor for junior members.
9. May be given additional responsibility of managing people based on discretion of the Project Manager.

Education and Experience Required

Engineering graduate, MCA, etc. Experience: 5-8 years

Protocol Testing Responsibilities:

1. Perform Modem/UE Protocol Stack Testing on 2G/3G/LTE/5G technologies.
2. Conduct interoperability testing of the modem with various network operators and deal with NEM labs (Ericsson, Nokia, Alcatel Lucent).
3. Understand network scenarios (signaling & user plane call flow), develop test plans and test cases, and execute those test cases using an automation framework. Collect required logs and analyze/debug issues found during regression.
4. Proficient in all 3GPP Radio Access Technologies (RAT) with knowledge of air interface, network signaling, and Layer 2, Layer 3 protocols of UE & RAN side, as well as NAS layer from UE and core network.
5. Automation using PERL/Python/TTCN scripting languages.

Platforms: Internal and customer-specific platforms, Linux host.

Technology Standard: 3GPP specifications, thorough understanding of the Network vendor tests.

Tools:

1. QXDM, QCAT, QPST, Prism, Anritsu, Keysight Test instrument knowledge.
2. Test scripting like RTD (for Anritsu) or equivalent, trace/log collection tools, core dump analysis tools, flashing tools.
