Job description

MMD are currently recruiting for an experienced full-time Workshop Manager to join their team. The workshop specialises in the manufacturing of bespoke furniture and fittings. The chosen candidate must have strong leadership skills and be capable of completing a high standard of finishing which meets the company’s expectations. This is an excellent position and full of potential for the right individual to assist in the continued growth of a successful company.

Requirements;

  • Immediate start
  • Ability to recruit, manage and train a team of apprenticeships, general operatives and carpenters
  • Experience managing a performance management system
  • Experience with Workshop Operations
  • Able to organise workshop, deliveries and fittings to ensure that each project is completed on time
  • Able to read and interpreting cutting lists
  • Capable of selecting and preparing appropriate materials, fittings, and tools for each task
  • Experience in assembling and fitting cabinets in workshop and on-site
  • Capable of overseeing stock taking
  • The right candidate must have a professional and polite manner when dealing with clients
  • 5 years relevant workshop experience (not including apprenticeship) with managerial duties an advantage.
  • Full driving licence
  • Be familiar with CNC machines, panel saws, edge banders, etc.
  • Excellent teamwork and customer service skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing workmanship.
