Your role

Reporting to the Social Media Lead, the successful candidate is someone passionate about marketing communication, storytelling, and delivering innovative content. As we build our social media team, an in‑house content hub that is agile, responsive, and in touch with the pulse is vital to the implementation of our social media and brand strategy. In this role you will be at the forefront of creating and delivering engaging content across our digital platforms that connects with our consumers by bringing the stories of our brand strategy to life. This candidate will ideate, develop, and produce social media content, acting as the editor across all social platforms.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Work closely with the social media lead and the wider social media team to drive the content strategy for Aer Lingus.
  • Work with agencies, publishers, and platforms (directly and indirectly) to create social media content plans that connect with customers, maximise engagement, and create shareability, talkability and advocacy.
  • Build relationships with key online publishers (Google, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok) to deeply understand ad platforms and identify opportunities to be first mover.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and senior stakeholders across marketing, brand, web, Guest Experience, PR, HR and sponsorship to ensure alignment of content with business needs, product pipeline and announcements.
  • Work alongside the Content Hub team to develop content.
  • Provide inspirational and creative thought leadership on ways to reach and gain the attention of target audiences; planning on an annual basis with the Head of Social Media.
  • Work closely with brand sponsorships to lead communications and maximise sponsorship agreements.
  • Story‑board and produce content for Aer Lingus social media channels, focusing on highlighting brand stories to deliver the strategy.
  • Serve as a videographer and photographer at key consumer brand moments and Aer Lingus events in Ireland.
  • Travel internationally to cover brand events and sponsorships independently.
  • Develop relationships with brand sports ambassadors to enable best‑quality content.
  • Contribute to and help shape the Aer Lingus social media strategy.
  • Act as a journalist, being the eyes and ears on the ground for the Social Media team by surfacing interesting stories about our colleagues and consumers to deliver the brand strategy.
  • Provide out‑of‑hours support and event coverage on an ad‑hoc basis as part of the wider team.
  • Establish goals and clearly defined metrics of success to measure brand sentiment, quality of content, audience growth, engagement, and content reach.
  • Compile weekly performance reports, quarterly reviews and social trends analysis to keep up to date and drive performance and innovation.
  • Manage a social media production budget in line with the overall marketing spend.
Essential Qualifications / Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in design, videography, content creation and editing.
  • Excellent knowledge of marketing discipline/processes and the social media landscape.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Current unrestricted worldwide passport.
  • Provide three verifiable references.
  • Able to pass a 5‑year security background check.
