Avondale Vets, Co. Wicklow (Arklow, Rathdrum & Tinahely)

Are you looking to be part of a welcoming, forward-thinking practice where teamwork really matters and a positive, supportive atmosphere is at the heart of everything we do?

We’re looking for a permanent Small Animal Vet to join our friendly, progressive team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in routine consultations and surgeries and a passion for delivering excellent care.

Here, you’ll never be on your own—you’ll be supported by our large, experienced team of nurses, ACAs, and receptionists, making it easy to focus on what you do best: looking after your patients. You’ll enjoy a varied and interesting case load every day, with the chance to develop your skills in a modern, well-equipped practice.

Our practice takes work–life balance seriously. Your day includes two 15-minute coffee breaks plus a full hour for lunch. The full-time role is a 4.5-day week (alternating 4-day and 5-day weeks) with regular Saturday clinics. You won’t need to cover Out of Hours shifts.

Located just 40 minutes south of Dublin, we’re perfectly placed between the stunning Wicklow Mountains and the sea—a beautiful area with plenty to enjoy on your days off.

We’ve invested in the latest equipment, including ultrasound, DR X-ray, dental X-ray, and in-house blood machines, so you have everything you need to provide the very best care. We also offer excellent opportunities for career development, with CPD fully supported, so you can continue growing as a vet.

Salary: €45,000 – €70,000, depending on experience.
