We are hiring!

Circet Ireland’s Power Division are looking for a TraineePower Networks Planner (PIW) with knowledge of overhead lines, civils, and cabling activities on power infrastructure new build and maintenance contracts.

A Power Networks Planner (PIW) plays an integral role in coordinating and scheduling planned works, shutdowns, or outages to minimise disruption to operations. The Outage Planner implements meticulous planning methodologies to schedule manpower, materials, and machinery for the smooth execution of engineering outages.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Receive work packages from Circet survey department to prepare and create power networks outage programs
  • Determine the resource requirements for the completion of all works throughout the project term.
  • Manage productivity, assign roles, tasks and responsibilities required for the successful completion of the project work in accordance with planning, specifications and requirements.
  • Provide direction and lead project team – inclusive of sub-contractors.
  • Create work packs for site teams
  • Ensure that the project is fully compliant with the local authority and statutory provisions for the administration of PSCS and Streetworks legislations.
  • Sound Financial & commercial understanding.
  • Identify ways to reduce costs and improve performance.
  • ESB Networks PIW (Person Issuing Work) approval desirable however if not training can be provided.
Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
  • Understanding of ESB Overhead Line Power Networks System
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Detailed technical understanding
  • Ability to mitigate potential risks associated with works
  • Sound knowledge of all HSEQ regulations
  • Good communication, people management and leadership skills
  • Excellent use of Microsoft office packages, such as excel, word, outlook, Microsoft project, PDF & Cad. Use of ArcGIS or similar advantageous
  • Relevant or similar experience within the power sector.
