Job description

As Tax Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our Tax Advisory, Corporate Tax, and VAT functions, driving excellence in client service, and leading a high-performing team.

This is an opportunity to influence key business decisions, work with a diverse client portfolio, and be part of a dynamic, growth-focused firm. Hybrid based in Louth or North Dublin.

Key Responsibilities of Tax Director:

  • Lead and manage the Tax Advisory, Corporate Tax, and VAT teams, ensuring exceptional service delivery.

  • Drive the firm's tax strategy, aligning with business objectives and regulatory changes.

  • Mentor and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management within the tax function.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across audit, accounting, compliance, and international network firms.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to a diverse portfolio of clients, providing strategic tax planning and expert guidance.

  • Advise on complex tax matters, including M&A, international tax planning, succession planning, and cross-border transactions.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering innovative, tailored tax solutions.

  • Identify and capitalise on business development opportunities, expanding client relationships and growing the firm’s tax advisory services.

  • Stay ahead of Irish and international tax law developments, ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Oversee VAT and Corporate Tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filings.

  • Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies that optimise client outcomes while managing risk.

  • Engage with tax authorities and external advisors to ensure best-in-class tax solutions.

Ideal skills & Experience of Tax Director

  • Proven experience in leading teams and driving business growth.

  • CTA qualified, with 8+ years’ experience in a senior tax leadership role within practice.

  • Strong technical expertise across Irish tax laws and international tax frameworks.

  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.

  • Strategic thinker with a commercial mindset and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
