Oaklee Housing is a growing Approved Housing Body with responsibility for over 2,500 homes nationwide. The organisation completed its deconsolidation from Choice Housing in 2023, marking a major strategic shift to build its own internal capacity and governance structures.

About the Asset Management Function
The Asset Management function was established in July 2025 to build the strategic, technical, and operational capacity needed to support Oaklee’s growth ambitions. The function is in its foundation stage, with a team of seven in place during 2025 and further roles under review for 2026 in line with Oaklee’s growth strategy. Work is underway to develop scalable structures, systems, and governance frameworks that will enable evidence-based investment planning, strong compliance oversight, and efficient programme delivery.
The function is also focused on creating a positive working environment, with a strong emphasis on work–life balance, collaboration, and professional development as the team grows.
The Sustainability Officer will play an important role in supporting the implementation of Oaklee’s Sustainability Strategy 2025–2028 and Energy Master Plan 2026–2035. The post will support the Senior Asset Officer to manage and deliver retrofit and energy projects, monitor performance, coordinate data, and secure funding to meet organisational sustainability objectives and regulatory requirements.
Support the Senior Asset Officer to plan, manage, and deliver retrofit and energy upgrade programmes in line with the Energy Master Plan and annual Business Plan targets.
Coordinate inputs to project briefs, funding applications, and resident engagement activities to support programme delivery.
Integrate energy and sustainability considerations into planned investment programmes and scheme reviews.
Provide technical and policy input to development projects to align with sustainability standards, including NZEB and low‑carbon technologies.
Manage organisational energy and sustainability KPIs, including retrofit delivery, BER coverage, energy procurement savings, emissions reductions, grant and energy credit drawdown, and resident engagement outcomes.
Develop and maintain dashboards to track performance across retrofit and energy programmes.
Prepare quarterly performance reports for internal governance forums, including the Senior Leadership Team and Housing Services Committee.
Coordinate data and content for the annual Sustainability Report and external reporting requirements.
Support alignment of reporting frameworks with regulatory, funding, and ESG requirements.
Maintain accurate datasets covering BERs, retrofit works, energy use, carbon outputs, and funding.
Support the implementation and operation of the Energy Management System to analysis and reporting.
Embed energy and sustainability data within asset management systems to inform investment planning and compliance reporting.
Identify and support applications for relevant funding streams such as SEAI and Housing Agency programmes.
Track funding claims to maximise external contributions to retrofit costs.
Support energy procurement activities to achieve targeted cost savings.
Contribute to resident engagement initiatives and internal awareness programmes on energy and sustainability.
Monitor relevant legislation, energy performance regulations, and sustainability standards to support compliance.
Provide accurate reporting to support alignment with AHBRA regulatory requirements and corporate ESG reporting.
This role suits someone with energy or sustainability experience who wants to apply their skills for social impact. You’re passionate about sustainability, data‑driven, and confident managing multiple projects. You bring experience in energy management, retrofit, or environmental performance, with strong analytical and reporting skills.
Degree in sustainability, energy, or environmental science (NFQ 7–8).
Experience in energy or retrofit project delivery.
Knowledge of BER/DEAP, SEAI schemes, and Irish energy regulations.
Strong data management and reporting skills.
Full driving licence and access to a car.
Experience in the AHB or social housing sector, knowledge of funding models, and dashboard/report development skills.
