About the Role

We are looking for a Sustainability Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to innovative, data-driven, and environmentally conscious design solutions. You'\'ll work across projects of all scales, supporting sustainable outcomes from early concept through to detailed design and delivery. This role is highly technical, requiring experience in performance simulation, environmental modelling, energy audits, and green building certifications such as LEED and BREEAM.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work alongside a Senior Sustainability Engineer to deliver a broad range of sustainability and energy-related tasks, including:

  • 3D geometry and dynamic modelling for buildings and masterplans
  • Heating and cooling load calculations (CIBSE Guide A)
  • Natural ventilation strategies, overheating assessment, thermal comfort studies
  • CFD simulations (indoor/outdoor airflow, heat transfer, occupant comfort)
  • Renewable energy system modelling: PV, wind, CHP, heat pumps
  • Energy audits and benchmarking
  • HVAC systems performance modelling, optimisation, and savings
  • Environmental comfort assessments (PMV, PPD, NZEB compliance)
  • Compliance assessments: BER, UK/Irish Part L, ASHRAE 90.1 PRM
Certifications & Ratings
  • LEED credits, daylight, ventilation, energy optimisation
  • Lead and deliver the above activities across multiple projects
  • Advise Project Managers/Directors on technical strategy and coordination
  • Support fee budgeting, task prioritisation, and project delivery targets
  • Produce high-quality technical reports, surveys, audits, and RFI responses
  • Participate in and contribute to internal/external training and development
What We're Looking For
  • Strong background in sustainable design, building physics, and performance simulation
  • Familiarity with industry tools (e.g. IES VE, Rhino/Grasshopper, EnergyPlus, CFD tools)
  • Experience working toward certifications like BREEAM, LEED, NZEB, etc.
  • Proactive communicator with ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality technical work
