Responsibilities
- Work closely with colleagues to build the right solutions to the problems our customers face.
- Make valuable changes in our codebase in your first week, and see them live in production minutes after merging them.
- Write and review high‑quality, well‑tested code to ensure that we’re creating a stable product for our customers and a stress‑free codebase for ourselves.
- Identify areas for improvement, both in our codebase and in how we work, and share the responsibility of making our team better.
- Own the problems you’re solving – and the software you write to solve them – all the way to production and beyond, responding to customer feedback to improve those solutions.
- Share your knowledge with other engineers in our team through code reviews, pairing sessions, and team discussions.
- Collaborate with our self‑hosted team to simplify the setup and upgrade processes for customers with self‑hosted installations using Docker images.
- Ensure our customers have more control over their egress traffic originating from actions like run scripts.
- Enhance our Tines‑powered incident response automation so that we can document root causes and fix them quickly.
- Migrate our database instances to new generations in AWS and measure performance improvements.
- Explore security and usability improvements for sending and receiving customer emails through AWS SES.
Qualifications
- Roughly 3‑5 years as a professional software engineer, looking to develop towards a senior role in a supportive environment.
- Direct experience building and delivering software using a high‑level programming language; comfortable with the technical depth expected of a small team interview process.
- Foundational skills and knowledge are valued over formal education; main languages are Ruby and TypeScript, but we encourage learning.
- Cybersecurity knowledge isn’t required for this role.
- Experience is broad; you’ll work across infrastructure, backend frameworks, and the full stack.
- We value simple, common tools: Ruby, Rails, React, TypeScript, Postgres, Redis, AWS CDK, and Docker.
- We work reasonable hours, take holidays, and plan workloads realistically.
- We built an inclusive and supportive team culture committed to kindness and respect.
