Overview

Vitalograph is a leading manufacturer of medical respiratory diagnostic devices and software, used in the diagnosis of respiratory disorders, and advanced high-reliability equipment and software systems used in respiratory end-point clinical drug trials. We have designed, developed and manufactured respiratory diagnostic devices, software, and consumables for healthcare professionals, for 60 years. Headquartered in the UK, Vitalograph has operations in Ireland, Germany, and the USA.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Software Architect. Reporting to the CTO and working closely with the VP of Digital Health Technology, the primary duty of this role will be to translate business requirements into technical solutions, driving and developing the complete system architecture to align with Vitalograph’s Digital Health Technology strategy. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, product managers, and regulatory experts, to ensure our solution meets industry standards and enhances patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Translate business requirements into enterprise level application solutions.
  • Provide strategic technical guidance and architectural oversight of the DHT team.
  • Architect web and mobile applications with a deep focus on user experience, scalability, and modern technology stacks.
  • Create enterprise and solution architecture designs and documentation.
  • Design and implement Web and mobile applications.
  • Lead the integration of applications, infrastructure, data, and security architecture.
  • Identify potential risks and ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements (performance, availability, scalability, etc.).
  • Ensure that all work and tasks carried out are consistent and compliant with Vitalograph SOPs.
Requirements
  • Computer Science Degree or equivalent engineering degree that includes software development.
  • 7+ years in applications development, with at least 3 years in an architect role.
  • Strong ability to define architectural patterns, select appropriate technology stacks, and oversee system integration strategies.
  • Expertise in front-end technologies, such as JavaScript/Typescript, CSS, HTML5.
  • Proven expertise across Application, Integration, Infrastructure, Data, and Security architecture.
  • Hands-on knowledge of RedHat OpenShift, 3Scale, SSO/Keycloak, OIDC, Identity Management, LDAP & Active Directory.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Skills
  • Experience with Android stack and Kotlin, Java and C++ development environments.
  • Experience with the Microsoft technology stack, which includes .NET Core, Web API, and SQL Server.
  • Pro-active, with proven ability to work under own initiative, while being a strong team player.
