Job summary

A leading construction company is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee and manage daily site operations across the UK. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining detailed site records. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of site management experience, strong knowledge of steel structures, and skills in leadership and communication. Valid First Aid and SMSTS certificates are required.

Qualifications

Job description

BHC is one of the UK’s leading Construction companies supplying new building projects all over the UK and Ireland. Due to continuous expansion, we are looking for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in Construction/Turnkey projectsto join our dynamic team and contribute to our continued success.

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: –

  • Oversee and manage daily site operations, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Effectively monitoring and controlling work flows, staff resources, plant, material & call off schedules.
  • Take ownership of agreed construction programmes at pre-start meetings and assist the Project Manager in accepting and checking the full construction package information being handed over by Quantity Surveyors / Design Managers / Project Managers / Senior Management Team.
  • Coordinate and supervise site workers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies, and amend/compile all necessary documentation.
  • Timely production of accurate reports on progress for circulation to clients and internal teams as and when required.
  • Liaise and communicate with other contractors on appropriate issues to ensure a consistency with communication and the speedy resolution of any issues.
  • Responsible for accurate record keeping of quality control documents and ensuring that additional works are requested in a timely manner and agreed with the client.
  • Ensuring that subcontract works are carried out in accordance with quotations and or specifications.
  • Management of sub-contractors to maximise contract performance against KPI’s, minimise default notices and penalties and to ensure high levels of customer services.
  • Monitor project progress, reporting on any issues or delays to senior management.
  • Interpret technical drawings and ensure accurate execution on-site.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and the client to ensure design specifications are met.
  • Maintain detailed site records, including progress reports, variations, and material usage.
  • Great leadership, time management and communication skills, as well as the ability to motivate a team.

Your qualifications and experience should be:-

  • A solid understanding of health and safety regulations in construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.

  • Valid First Aid at Work Certificate.
  • Valid SMSTS Training Certificate.
  • Good IT skills with all Microsoft packages and able to pick up new software quickly.

Work will be UK wide with staying away duties included.
