As a Senior Vision Engineer, you will provide expertise and support to manufacturing processes. You will lead vision-related continuous improvement updates, obsolescence upgrade projects and provide vision training for engineering personnel. This role will be based at our TPM in Fermoy, Cork and will require occasional travel for training and project implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the implementation of Machine Vision projects (mainly Cognex Insight Spreadsheet environment).

Conduct code review/debugging of a wide spectrum of bespoke vision jobs/algorithms.

Investigate issues and develop solutions for Machine Vision applications.

Perform characterization, optimization, emulation, and data analysis on proposed Vision jobs.

Collaborate with other internal functions (e.g., QA, Operations, Engineering).

Standardize best machine vision practices across the site.

Lead vision-related obsolescence upgrade projects.

Provide vision training for engineering personnel.

Education and Experience:

Degree in Engineering or Science equivalent.

Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent is desirable.

Minimum 5 years of machine vision engineering work experience, preferably in a regulated high-volume automated manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated expertise with Cognex Insight hardware/software platform (spreadsheet environment) for at least 5 years.

Experience with optics, lighting techniques, troubleshooting/diagnostics, and vision algorithm development, with interfaces to PLC/HMI systems.

Extensive knowledge of vision tools such as histograms, edge tools, blob tools, OCR, logic, image processing techniques, and job profiling.

Completion of Cognex advanced spreadsheet training, Cognex Vison Pro, Designer and Keyence vision systems.

Good knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods.

Experience with GDP/GMP/GAMP.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Exceptional attention to detail.
