Job description

What is the opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a domain expert in Test Automation to join our Lean central Group Test Centre for Enablement (TC4E) team! We are accountable in defining the enterprise test frameworks & provide technical SME support to test teams who are federated to Domains in the Bank of Ireland.

The successful candidate will be a key player in continuous improvement on Enterprise Automation Frameworks across the domains by demonstrating industry leading tools stacks and trends. You will coach new automation teams on automation framework and resolve technical challenges/blockers in automation delivery by federated test teams.

In this role you will:

• Define and implement test automation frameworks (Cucumber, UFT & PYTest)
• Define Automation Approach across all the business units following Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery models
• Integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Point of contact to provide solutions for automation issues in the bank
• Define Automation solutions for all the leading technologies
• Ensures Banks Automation strategy, standards & Tools are followed and continuously monitored, as well as implementing additional approaches to improve quality and efficiency
• Track key performance metrics for the automated testing in the project area
• Provide guidance, training and mentoring to implement test automation across project teams
• Drive technological execution of the recommended automation solution roadmap
• Evaluate and select the best usage of test automation tools for different purposes
• Work with DevOps team to deploy automation tests as part of the CI/CD process
• Evaluate new technology options and Automation tools and predicts trends and develops future plans designed to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness
• Build strong relationships with collaborating teams within IT & Businesses
• Conduct POC and cases for Automations in the project initiation phase

What will make you stand out?

You have minimum 10+ years experience in Automation test delivery with strong knowledge of Test Automation and services as well as working experience in Agile, Waterfall and DevOps environment. You are proactive, independent and have the ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines. You have good experience working with outsourced IT Suppliers & IT Design partners.

Further Technical Skills Required:

• Proficiency in any scripting language such as Java, python, Perl, PowerShell, Groovy, Shell scripts and Bash
• Solid Experience with Automation tools like Selenium WebDriver, UFT and good understanding of GUI/Database/Web Service Automation.
• Proficiency in Test Effort Estimations.
• Good experience in MAVEN, GIT, XML and JSON.
• Very good knowledge in CI tools like JENKINS, HUDSON or TEAMCITY
• Strong IT skills/understanding, including experiencing working with Information Security, integrated platforms and Infrastructure
