Roughan & O'Donovan (ROD) is looking to recruit senior structural design engineers with five to ten years’ relevant experience for permanent positions within our expanding buildings team

Job type:Permanent

Location:Sandyford, Dublin 18 or Santry, Dublin 17, with agreed flexible working arrangements

About the role

You will be part of a buildings team recognised for delivering high quality, cost-effective and sustainable building projects across a range of sectors,including residential, healthcare, education and commercial.

We work with architects, developers, local authorities and property owners to develop robust, long-lasting building designs.Our buildings achieve the top certifications within sustainable design, including LEED and BREEAM.

  • office buildings
  • primary, secondary and third-level school buildings
  • Public Housing Award at the RIAI Irish Architecture Awards 2024 for Cornamona Court
  • Honours degree in structural/civil engineering (Level 8 qualification in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)
  • Five to tenyears’ relevant experience
  • Ability to work in a team and/or under own guidance
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Experience of mentoring junior engineering staff in all aspects of design
  • Good understanding of ethical issues in engineering design, including safet
  • Chartered or working towards chartered status with a recognised professional body
  • Full driving licence
  • Fluent/highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Structural design experience in accordance with the Eurocodes for concrete, steel, masonry, timber and foundations
  • Knowledge/experience of BIM/Revit/Robot
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Experience of building regulations and technical guidance documents
