Senior Research & Development Engineer

Location: Ballybrit, Galway, Ireland

Duration: 18-month contract

roles and responsibilities

This pivotal role involves managing and delivering complex acute stroke projects, from initial concept to new product introduction. This will involve:

• Developing an understanding of the disease state and translating user needs into technical specifications.
• Generating creative product solutions and developing test models for prototypes.
• Building and testing prototypes, analyzing data, and identifying optimal solutions.
• Developing and delivering project plans to meet performance, time, and cost targets.
• Identifying and managing key risks throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborating with external resources and creating detailed specifications, procedures, and reports.

How to succeed

To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong blend of technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills. You will also bring:

• An Honours degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
• A minimum of 4 years' experience in medical device design and development.
• Expertise in SolidWorks, product lifecycle data management, prototyping, and testing.
• Strong design and technical ability, with knowledge of fundamental engineering principles.
• Data review and statistical methods skills like Minitab.
• Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run for an 18-month duration.
