Job Description

Due to ongoing expansion within Carron + Walsh we are looking for suitable candidates with a mix of Public and Private sector project experience for the positions of Senior Quantity Surveyor in our Dublin and Waterford offices. The successful Candidates will undertake Quantity Surveying duties independently whilst reporting to our Management Team in the delivery of these projects. Typical duties may include:



  • Preparation of Development Budgets and Feasibility Appraisals

  • Implementation of Value Engineering

  • Preparation of tender documentation including Bills of Quantities

  • Analysis of tender returns

  • Preparation of contract documents and administration of Building & Civil Engineering Conditions of Contract

  • Operation of Carron + Walsh Cost Management System

  • Compliance with Carron + Walsh ISO Certified Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management Systems

  • Preparing Payment Recommendations

  • Agreement of Compensation Costs

  • Managing support staff


The ideal candidates would have the following qualifications and traits:



  • Chartered or working towards chartership, with a B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying

  • 5 to 10 years post qualification experience (PQS preferred)

  • Ability to work proactively within project teams

  • Commercially and contractually focused
