We are seeking an experienced QA/Test Engineer to join our QA Team. The role is based in Cork, servicing the needs of our client. The successful candidate will report to the Software Project Manager.
The candidate will work with the development team to build and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases, with a minimum of 5 years’ commercial experience.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans and test cases to address technical challenges and reduce the test cycle time through automation.
- Enhance the company’s testing efforts by improving test frameworks, tools, and technologies.
- Contribute to and evolve high-quality automated test solutions for functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Transfer knowledge and cross-train team members to improve automation capabilities.
- Understand client business terminology, practices, and procedures within a reasonable timeframe.
- Provide input on best practices for estimating, designing, developing, and executing test procedures and cases.
- Collaborate closely with the Development team daily.
- Liaise with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Business Users to clarify requirements.
- Execute test plans and regression test plans within agreed timelines and standards.
- Test complex application areas and use business knowledge to assess functionality.
- Investigate and document defects, verify resolution, and ensure prompt closure.
- Communicate testing status and flags that may impact QA milestones.
- Manage priorities and set expectations amidst multiple demanding tasks.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the testing function.
- Adhere to and promote internal information security policies and procedures.
Technical Profile
- Minimum of 5+ years of software testing experience.
- Proven experience with industry-standard test automation tools like Visual Studio Test Edition, Selenium WebDriver, or similar.
- Experience with C# is a distinct advantage.
- Good knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with automated testing is advantageous.
- Knowledge of UI ADA tools like MABL, Accessibility Insights, etc., is advantageous.
- Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies.
- Strong background in structured testing methods and techniques.
- Experience in writing test plans and procedures.
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Microsoft TFS, Azure DevOps, or HP ALM.
- Experience testing business and enterprise applications.
