What you will do:

As a Senior Python Developer at Plecto, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing the backend of our real‑time performance platform. You’ll collaborate closely with other developers, product managers, and designers to deliver a high‑quality product that scales well.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and developing scalable backend services and APIs in Python.
• Working with modern technologies such as Django, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka.
• Collaborating with the product team to deliver new features and improvements to our platform.
• Ensuring system reliability, performance, and maintainability through clean code, testing, and monitoring.
• Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, technical debt, and opportunities for architectural improvements.
• Taking ownership of features end‑to‑end — from idea and design to deployment and monitoring in production.
• Participating in code reviews and sharing knowledge with your teammates to maintain a high engineering standard.

Required Technical Expertise

• Backend Development: 5+ years of professional experience with Python, building and maintaining production systems.
• Frameworks: familiarity with modern Python web frameworks (we use Django).
• Databases: Solid understanding of relational databases (we use PostgreSQL) and query optimization.
• Infrastructure: Hands‑on experience with Docker and deploying applications in cloud environments (AWS or similar).
• Testing & Code Quality: Proficient in writing unit and integration tests, with a focus on maintainability and performance.
• Collaboration: Experience working in agile teams, using Git‑based workflows and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Elasticsearch or other large‑scale search/data indexing systems.
• Exposure to Kafka or similar streaming/data pipeline technologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Understanding of observability (metrics, logging, monitoring) in distributed systems.
• Interest in scaling SaaS platforms and optimizing system performance.
