Position Summary
As a Senior Project Manager at Lafferty (A Cumming Group Company), you will work with highly experienced, culturally diverse, and talented teams delivering industry leading projects. You will gain vast industry experience that will open doors for you, extend your skillset and grow your knowledge and profile within the construction industry. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Pre-Contract
- Assist in the development of a scope of work, priorities & KPIs
- Assist in the development of the Project Execution Plan. Fully understand role in execution of project. Raise queries if needed.
- With line management guidance take the lead role in the preparing, reviewing & recommendations of the Design Team RFP’s and appointments.
- Document, minute and track actions and outcomes from Project meetings.
- Understand the key design, value engineering, statutory consent processes etc. and support line management on such activities
- Understand H&S obligations in design and construction and our role in same.
- Assist with the Development of programmes and track performance against same.
- Assist with the Development of a procurement strategy report where required and manage the process to ensure best value for the project.
Post Contract
- Support and where appropriate lead on actively managing the project in construction through tracking planned v actual progress.
- Document, minute and track actions and outcomes from Project meetings.
- Proactive management and reporting across design, cost, time, safety, and quality aspects.
- Develop and manage relationships with Contractors, Design Team, Client Representative and any other relative third parties.
- Ensure project has been reviewed and closed out according to best practice, statutory requirement (BCAR & Compliance), client satisfaction and scope of work.
The People
- Liaise with project team members and ensure clarity of roles & assigned deliverables are being met. Escalate any concerns.
- Interact professionally with client staff, proactively identify, and raise issues, ensure updates provided in line with project requirements.
- Take responsibility to understand both sides of any conflict and seek to resolve as soon as possible. Escalate any remaining issues with the appropriate Lafferty person.
- As appropriate, liaise with relevant 3rd parties, ensuring all interactions in line with project requirements. Proactively identify and elevate any concerns.
The Process and Technology
- Maintain timesheets (weekly) and manage actual time in line with planned resourcing where possible. Keep line manager updated.
- Support the tracking of financial progress and provide information where needed.
The Business
- Further develop and maintain existing client/third party relationships. Leads to repeat business and recommendations.
Experience and Qualifications
- 3+ years Construction Project Management experience
- A track record in working on or leading capital works projects preferably on some or all of the below categories.
- High Density residential projects
- Commercial Office Shell & Core
- Mixed Use Developments
- Or Prior experience on €10M+ new build projects (vertical) in other sectors.
- Experience in the following backgrounds are desirable:
- Client-Side Project Managers / Working in house with Property Developers
- Project Management Consultancy (Global)
- Individuals with relevant Design Management expertise.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or other construction related discipline.
- Have a project management professional certification or are seeking one is preferrable but not essential.
