Job description

My client is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join their growing team. You develop data driven strategies to drive the meaningful recommendations and models. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development of cutting-edge machine learning solutions for our client. Your responsibilities will encompass collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions. You will be at the forefront of driving innovation and leveraging the power of AI and machine learning to solve real-world problems and help drive the business.

The Role

Acquire, clean, and manipulate large datasets to extract actionable insights. Understand business problems and translate them into analytical problems. Develop and implement machine learning models, including but not limited to Large Language Models to solve various business problems. Identify hidden relationships among data sources and identify new potential business opportunities.

Build solutions leveraging advanced machine learning and statistical algorithms. Simplify and present analytical insights to stakeholders with both analytical and non-analytical backgrounds. Develop lightweight front ends for Proof of Concepts using ReactJS. Stay current with key developments in analytics research and experiment with implementing them in real project scenarios.

Manage project plans and timelines to ensure high-quality and timely delivery. Build data products in collaboration with other areas such as ML Engineering, Visualisation, Data Engineering, and IT.

Skills/Experience Needed

Master’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related. Proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role, with a strong portfolio of machine learning projects. Expertise in statistical modeling techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, generalized linear models, SVM, ensemble models (Random Forest, XGBoost), cluster analysis, PCA.

Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (e.g., GPT, BERT) and natural language processing techniques is vital. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with ML libraries and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch). Strong programming experience with SQL and libraries like NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels.

Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and statistical methods. Basic UX development skills and experience with front-end technologies, specifically ReactJS, to develop lightweight front-ends for POCs. Ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have: Experience in advanced analytics / Data Science in a consulting space or similar. Advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a quantitative discipline. Experience building and deploying machine learning models in a commercial setting. Experience with cloud platforms for deploying machine learning models. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
