Senior Associate, Service – AGS – Japanese Speaker

GLG is seeking driven candidates for our Japanese Speaking Senior Associate position on our Asia Global Servicing team servicing Japanese clients. Senior Associates help drive GLG’s business model and develop our client base – professionals at the world’s top corporations, investment firms, management consultancies, and non‑profits – through close coordination with members of the APAC Client Solutions team to fulfill clients’ primary research needs. Associates are responsible for delivering GLG’s underlying business processes, fulfilling timely client research requests, assisting senior team members with high‑level product execution, and facilitating in‑person interactions between GLG’s clients and Council Members.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Project Support: Supporting the APAC Client Solutions team, the Senior Research Associate will provide project support, managing multiple projects on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with team members and other internal stakeholders, such as recruiting, to deliver on research needs to maximize commercial outcomes.
  • Project Delivery: Facilitate customized products between GLG’s client and network members. The Senior Associate is tasked with fulfilling time‑sensitive research requests by analyzing client requests and building and qualifying primary populations of topic experts. Most GLG client/expert interactions consist of telephone consultations but may also include surveys, research travel programs, and in‑depth engagements.
  • Compliance: Navigate complex compliance requirements and operational procedures that differ across a wide pool of clients, representing GLG’s key value proposition.
  • Relationship Management: Develop relationships with GLG’s most respected thought leaders across sectors as well as recruit new senior executives and leading consultants into the GLG Councils membership.
  • Target Oriented: Meet and exceed monthly goals and metrics on multiple high‑priority projects, at any given time.
  • Accountability: Maintain accountability and responsibility for client projects and the overall client experience.
  • Communication: Professional business communication, both written and verbal, as the role requires communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

As a Senior Associate, you will have the opportunity to:

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from a top tier university.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English is mandatory.
  • 2–4 years relevant industry experience or financial services experience.
  • Superior communication and interaction skills, including demonstrated oral, written and presentation abilities in both English & Japanese.
  • Successful track record managing multiple, simultaneous complex tasks and working in team environments.
  • Passion for client service, especially with experience in phone‑based professional communication.
  • Demonstrated commitment and attention to detail, ideally in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and desire to learn about new topics.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships across the full professional spectrum including senior colleagues and extremely senior outside professionals.
  • Strong desire to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent multi‑task and time management skill to handle large volume of projects.
