The successful candidate will advise clients on a spectrum of employment-related matters, from contentious issues to compliance and policy development. The Group works with senior management and human resources professionals in major employers, advising on the most complex issues in the Irish market and internationally, including whistleblowing, complex investigations, restrictive covenants and team moves, employment litigation, and corporate transactions.

We now seek to recruit a Senior Associate to join the Employment Law Group. This is a unique opportunity to join a team of highly-skilled and experienced advisers in a collegiate and flexible environment and to advise on a wide range of both contentious and non-contentious employment-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising on employment contracts, policies and procedures;
  • Advising clients on the full range of HR-related legal queries, including issues such as absence management, performance management, disciplinary and grievance processes, corporate immigration, complaints of bullying and harassment, restructuring and redundancies, restrictive covenants and related litigation, mandatory retirement and termination of employment;
  • Advice on the conduct of investigations including in respect of protected disclosures;
  • Advising on labour-related matters in the context of corporate transactions;
  • Advising clients on the conduct of employment-related litigation before the Workplace Relations Commission, the Labour Court and the civil courts – there will be opportunities for the senior associate to conduct their own advocacy, should they wish to do so;
  • Advising on transfer of undertakings;
  • Preparing and delivering presentations to clients and colleagues on areas of employment law; and
  • Engaging proactively on business development activities.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • 5 + years PQE gained in either Ireland or the UK;
  • Strong experience in all aspects of contentious, advisory and transactional employment law;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and decision-making;
  • Ability to multi-task and manage client needs on a consistent basis;
  • A genuine passion for business development;
  • A keen interest in maintaining, developing and sharing relevant legal knowledge; and
Education

The successful candidate will be qualified as a solicitor in Ireland or England & Wales.
