Key Responsibilities

The Capital Spend Review Team is dedicated to ensuring the highest level of financial integrity and efficiency in capital expenditures. Our mission is to maintain robust controls over capital spend, ensuring compliance with capital policies and contracts, and driving continuous improvements in capital processes. By leveraging advanced analytical tools and collaborating across various departments, we aim to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of capital project lifecycle.

Role description

General

  • Conduct comprehensive Capital spend reviews to identify and rectify discrepancies in capital expenditures.
  • Assist with driving enhancements to the spend review analysis tool and overall process.
  • Works closely with: Site Project Teams, Capital Procurement, Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) Project Controls, Information Technology (IT) Support Team, Suppliers, and Manufacturing and Quality (M&Q) Finance Leadership Teams.

Spend Review Engagement Planning Responsibilities

  • Support development and finalization of the Annual Review Plan leveraging inputs from applicable stakeholders.
  • Complete the Spend Review Catalogue Questionnaire for each spend review engagement to determine applicable analyses applicable for site contracts.
  • Gather site specific information from the Project Team to gain a better understanding of current processes.
  • Identify relevant stakeholders and communicate key review information for site specific spend review.

Spend Review Engagement Execution Responsibilities

  • Review the requested stakeholder documentation to confirm all required documents and details are available for review engagement.
  • Conduct field interviews to understand and validate gaps or process improvement opportunities identified by the spend review analysis.
  • Oversee execution of the Capital Defender tool.
  • Execute additional analysis as needed outside of Capital Defender tool
  • Provide insights on source of errors in the spend review analysis.
  • Review contracts and engage Project Team for missed exceptions.
  • Review findings to identify any cost recovery opportunities and develop next steps.

Spend Review Engagement Closure Responsibilities

  • Perform samples of the data analysis manually to identify potential errors in the analysis model to enhance subsequent spend reviews.
  • Consolidate spend review findings, produce engagement dashboards summaries, and communicate them to stakeholders.
  • Share findings with cross-functional project teams and escalate as necessary.
  • Follow up on claw back opportunities with the multiple project teams
  • Review content and communication plan with leadership and stakeholders for feedback.

Systems

  • Advanced Proficiency in Excel and PowerBI

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years’ post-qualified experience in finance function or public accounting practice, preferably with knowledge of capital processes in a multinational environment as well as US GAAP/IFRS technical accounting
  • Accounting / Finance degree (Undergraduate or Masters as required for certification)
  • CPA, CIMA, ACCA, Chartered Accountant or equivalent
  • Fluency in English
