About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager with over 10 years of experience in leading complex SAP S/4HANA implementations and upgrade projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing SAP/ERP upgrade projects, preferably in highly regulated industries, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of business planning, coordination, test management, risk management, business readiness/OCM, and business stakeholder communication throughout the upgrade lifecycle. The SAP Upgrade Site Lead (PM) will act as a central point of contact and coordination for all business aspects of a Global S/4 Upgrade, ensuring a smooth and successful transition to the new system version.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, test plans, timelines and resource allocations in line with global program milestones.
  • Manage the overlap between business IT, collaborating with business stakeholders, SAP functional and technical teams, and external vendors to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with SAP upgrade governance methodology and other relevant project management frameworks.
  • Drive change management, training, documentation readiness and communication strategies to support successful adoption.
  • Manage site governance forums including providing regular status updates and executive reporting to senior leadership.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the program team and business owners for program requirements, testing and defect management.
Key Requirements
  • 10+ years of SAP Project Management experience.
  • S/4HANA Upgrade experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience delivering SAP/ERP projects in highly regulated environments – must have supported life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotech clients.
  • Strong background leading Supply Chain and Manufacturing workstreams within SAP implementations or upgrades.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of presenting to Site and Global leadership.
  • Solid understanding of SAP/ERP project methodologies, project governance, and change control processes.
  • Previous leadership role on an SAP/ERP project such as cutover lead, PMO lead, test lead, deployment lead etc.
  • Experience with multi-vendor coordination and global stakeholder alignment.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of test methodologies, manual and automated testing in accordance with best practice testing standards.
  • Understanding of SAP system architecture, infrastructure, and technical configurations.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, Agile, SAP Activate).
  • Ability to organize, define objectives and scope, identify tasks and milestones, build project schedules, identify resource needs, track project execution, and manage risks.
  • Demonstrates a collaborative mindset, nurtures teamwork and influences cross-functionally.
