Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Health & Benefits team as a Risk Benefits and Carrier Lead, based in our Dublin office with a hybrid working model. The successful candidate will ideally start with us on 1 April 2026.

This newly created role reflects our continued growth. As the Risk Benefits & Carrier Lead, you will be responsible for driving the overall proposition, growth and profitability of Risk Benefits within Health & Benefits Ireland, while also leading the development and execution of WTW’s carrier management strategy. You will ensure strong trading relationships with carriers, optimise broking outcomes, and alignment with commercial growth objectives.

The Role
  • To be commercially minded and apply this to support the effective operation and running of the H&B Ireland team.
  • Work with the regional broking team to develop, commercialise and implement a carrier management framework for partner and non-partner carriers, leading negotiations for enhanced terms and bespoke services schedules.
  • Oversee broking operations to ensure alignment with the placement strategy, competitive pricing, product innovation, and alignment with market trends and underwriting appetite.
  • Participate in sales opportunities, RFPs, new business pitches, prospect meetings and be the face of Risk Benefits for WTW in Ireland.
  • Share knowledge, ideas and solutions through internal training, presentations, mentoring, team meetings and briefing sessions.
  • Produce and contribute to thought leadership pieces, articles, industry press, case studies, intellectual capital/property and market intelligence/insights in the People Risk and Benefits space.
  • Work collaboratively with Retirement & other LOB’s to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Represent WTW H&B in senior carrier meetings, industry forums, and maintain compliance with government standards.
  • Lead on carrier relationships in the Risk & Medical Benefits space, acting as a subject matter expert and helping to shape future partnerships, client solutions and growing new broking & carrier related revenue.
  • Support on broader Risk Benefits and carrier related projects & strategy

This role will be within the Willis Towers Watson (Ireland) Limited and is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland

Qualifications
The Requirements
  • Market leading knowledge and experience of the Health & Benefits Ireland market to include Group Risk and Healthcare would be advantageous
  • QFA qualification (qualified financial Advisor)
  • Excellent client relationship and account management skills.
  • Communication and leadership skills to lead and co-ordinate a large community of people to achieve outstanding results for clients.
  • Confidence and passion to use market insights and data to positively challenge client thinking.
  • Commercial mindset to develop, lead and promote both existing and new group risk consulting propositions.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to develop and mentor colleagues.
  • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with and presenting to prospects, clients, colleagues and business leaders at all levels.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively to build a robust network.
  • Well organised and detail oriented (e.g. being able to both plan and communicate efficiently).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues, with strong client service orientation.
  • Ability to work both independently and on client teams and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter and willingness to adapt to change.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
