We are seeking an experienced grocery retail supervisor or shop duty manager who has a particular understanding of shop floor operations, running stock, maintaining standards, ideally training new staff members on procedures and best practice, supervisory duties like ordering, key holding or shop minding is essential.

The salary will vary DOE, 33,000 - 35,000 a year, including staff discount, and other perks - 42 hour contract -

Requirements

• Previous Supervisor or Duty Manager who has worked in retail, such as a Grocery supermarket or convenience store, has knowledge of HACCP, customer service, and wants to enhance their retail experience in a bigger store; other retail environments will be considered.
• Passion for grocery retail and working with the general public.
• Flexible to work early shifts such as 6 and 7am starts, and late evening closes such as 9 and 10pm.
• Good organizational skills,
• Be able to work within a team and on your own initiative

Responsibilities

• Shop minding, ensuring the store runs smoothly, and maintaining the standards whilst managing the store on your own in the morning or closing shifts
• Driving sales, controlling the stock level, managing promotional changeover, and ensuring the profit margins are at the agreed target
• People management, developing and coaching teams, learning more about performance management, like conflict resolution and motivating colleagues, rota planning, etc.
• KPI and target management, you will enhance your commercial acumen of how the shop makes money, controls costs effectively, and drives productivity
• Customer service, enhancing customer experience through your training, resolving complaints, and training teams under you to obtain further knowledge in the industry
