Overview

Talbot Hotel Carlow, part of the Talbot Collection, is recruiting for an experienced Reception Manager to join our team. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with a passion for customer service.

The Reception Manager will report to the General Manager. The successful candidate must be available to work five days out of seven days to include varying shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the day-to-day operations are carried out in line with department and hotel standards.
  • Manage and oversee the front desk in all day-to-day operations to include check-in/check-out, cash handling, reservations and guest queries.
  • Ensure correct handling and charging of all daily business accounts and that reception staff are aware of correct procedures.
  • Provide exceptional friendly service to our guests at all times, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, every time.
  • Ensure the reception team are competently trained and standards and performance are monitored.
  • Have total product knowledge of the hotel and its facilities, and a complete knowledge of Talbot Collection’s product offering.
  • Work closely with all departmental managers to ensure a pleasant experience for our guests.
  • Ensure that any complaints are dealt with promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure payments are balanced and accurate.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Manager to maximise sales, occupancy and room rate.
Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of previous reception management experience, ideally in a 4/5 star hotel.
  • Friendly, welcoming and passionate about customer service.
  • Experience with HotSoft or similar PMS.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive approach to selling.
