About The Role
The Quality and Compliance Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing quality management systems, compliance frameworks, and internal controls to ensure the organisation meets regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations. This role drives a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure health and safety practices are followed and emergency procedures, including evacuation and fire precaution procedures, are understood.
- Work with senior management to develop and maintain quality and compliance strategies, KPIs, and policies.
- Maintain the Quality Management Systems (IMS, EN1090, ISO 9001 ISO 37301, etc.).
- Interpret regulatory requirements to keep company policies and practices up to date.
- Conduct regular internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead quality assurance activities, including process validation, documentation control, and performance monitoring.
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities.
- Develop and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of quality and compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, R&D, Sales/Marketing, Procurement, Operations, HR, legal, and senior management to embed compliance into business processes.
- Investigate and resolve non‑conformances, incidents, and customer complaints in a timely manner.
- Prepare reports for executive leadership and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Develop and implement a quality road map for the site to ensure ongoing continuous improvement.
- Monitor the Product Compliance Register to ensure all products sold by Tate Europe comply with relevant standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with fellow managers to develop, implement, and own a strategy plan for operations.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as requested.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Business Administration, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, or risk management, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities with experience influencing cross‑functional teams.
- Detail‑oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred; roles with an engineering bias are advantageous.
