Product Manager

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Dublin office.

About ACIA

The Aon Centre for Innovation and Analytics (ACIA) provides advanced insurance research, analytics and business intelligence to Aon colleagues and clients globally. The ACIA in Dublin, along with our sister locations in Krakow and Singapore, are Aon’s three global Centres of Excellence where innovative data solutions are developed to serve the needs of internal colleagues, external clients and Aon’s partners.

What the day will look like
  • Partnering with business collaborators and technical experts to define product enhancements and subsequently release to end-users. You will also need to quickly identify, assess and prioritise various product-related opportunities to drive value. You will be responsible the technical product management of a central initiative within Aon, using proprietary data to provide new insights to clients.
  • Forward thinking, effective planning and initiative execution is crucial. Significant analysis, business case development, requirements drafting, and effective change and stakeholder management are also key to being successful in this role.
  • Define the strategic direction and product roadmap in partnership with commercial product leaders
  • Deliver releases and features on the product roadmap from conception through to feature design to development and post launch
  • Connect with key business partners and relevant areas of the business about project status, technical capabilities, issues, and enhancements
  • Lead delivery teams in the delivery of product backlogs and product releases
  • Embed customer/market insights into the product development process at all stages from product inception to delivery of customer-centric solutions
  • Collaborate with business partners and Head of Product to refine feature roadmap and product backlog
  • Support the active development of the Product Management function throughout the business through the introduction of new agile techniques and approaches to product backlog management and delivery.
How this opportunity is different

This role will be leading a flagship product as part of Aon’s market leading Risk Analyser suite of tools that are designed to provide quantitative analytics in Insurance Risk Management and Transfer. This role will have both reach globally and across all levels of the organisation. This opportunity will provide exposure to all aspects of the data, analytical and product lifecycle.

Working in an agile environment, the Product Manager will be supported by a cross functional team to build web applications to provide analytics to colleagues and clients.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

The ideal Product Manager will have:

  • Ideally 5+ years working in a Product Management role or deep product management expertise
  • Experience in leading requirements workshops and working with senior stakeholders
  • Experience in Insurance specifically Financial Lines products
  • Clear and engaging communication skills – ability to lead workshops and articulate the commercial value of data and analytics to C-suite level senior partners/clients (internal & external)
  • Prior experience as analyst, software developer or similar roles in Insurance or large enterprises
  • Engaging interpersonal skills and experience in leading cross-functional teams
  • You have brought the voice of the customer to a technical team
  • Excellent People management skills across a diverse, matrixed organization
  • Degree or equivalent practical experience in either a technical or business-related field
  • Experience with agile product management tools.
