### **Job Description**AtkinsRéalis one of the world’s leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland.We are seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to be based in our Galway office. The successful candidate will work in a structural team within a multidisciplinary office and shall work on varied projects. Our current workload in building and site development projects includes the Commercial, Residential, Healthcare, Industrial, and Education Sectors for both public and private clients.The candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, willing to take responsibility and comfortable working as part of team.**Duties will include:*** Acting as a Lead Structural Engineer as part of Multidisciplinary Design Teams.* Design input and oversight of the delivery of all Structural aspects of projects.* Preparation of project reports (Planning, Tender, Construction Stage) with an ability to communicate complex technical matters with crystal clear clarity).* Communication of design intent via PowerPoint presentations.* Preparation of fee proposals and site specific quality submissions for design contracts with public and private clients.* Communication with internal and external parties via email.* Oversight of preparation of design drawings.* Preparation of design calculations for internal and external review.* Undertaking duties of Ancillary Certifier for the C&S discipline.* Financial management of design budgets.* Supervising and mentoring other structural engineers who will be reporting into the successful candidate.* Manage both personal workload and the work load of a small team of structural engineers who will report into the candidate.**Desirable skills/attributes:*** Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland or Institution of Structural Engineers.* Good communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to prioritise and manage personal and team workload effectively.* Experience in delivery of Structural Engineering Design to Eurocodes.* Proficient in MS Office Suite.* Experience in use of structural design software (Robot and Tekla Structural Designer would be advantageous).* Experience acting as Lead Project C+S engineer on multi-disciplined projects (meeting attendance with clients and other design team members etc).* Good working knowledge of the civil engineering aspects of buildings including drainage design and external works.At AtkinsRéalis we put Environment, Sustainability and Health & Safety at the heart of our business strategy.
