Job description

Principal IT Data Analyst

As Principal Data Analyst, you will lead the current state analysis to support the design and implementation of core infrastructural capabilities for Fidelity Brokerage Services Incorporated (FBSI) brokerage platforms. You will work with brokerage leaders and partners across business, architecture and technical teams, developing analytics insights that drive solution recommendations for the platform’s core components.

Expertise & Skills

• Strong technical experience leading significant data or BI related projects in requirements gathering, analysis, interpretation, and translation to data solutions.
• Proficiency in designing and developing high-value actionable BI reports using Power BI or Tableau.
• Excellent data analysis and data profiling skills with an in-depth understanding of SQL or Python; able to independently wrangle enterprise datasets to obtain business insights and validate the impact of changes on relational, graph, or NoSQL database platforms.
• Proven experience navigating, influencing and working across business, technical and architecture teams, enabling new data insights and delivering data solutions.
• Expertise in data modelling techniques (relational, dimensional, graph) and application of best practices when building data solutions; able to identify alternative approaches and make recommendations on benefits and shortcomings.
• Strategic thinker, able to communicate sophisticated concepts effectively to a variety of audiences, both technical and non‑technical.
• Continuous learner, interested in mastering new skills and keeping current on the latest innovations, experienced developing data analytics proof‑of‑concepts.
• Critical and strategic thinker, readily takes ownership and accountability, and praised as a go‑getter with the ability to unravel a mystery in data, business process or organization.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, cultivating relationships across organizational and functional boundaries.
• Prior experience with on‑prem enterprise database migrations to the cloud and familiar with DevOps, CI/CD practices, pipeline development, and data movement technologies within AWS or Azure cloud environments.
• Good working knowledge of brokerage or financial services.

Team

You will be part of the End to End Analysis and Consumption team responsible for performing current state analysis of brokerage platforms as part of our FBSI modernization program. The team’s goal is to develop approaches and systems that inventory and analyze the interconnectedness and dependencies of mainframe and cloud‑based platforms, spanning code base, data stores and job control. The team is tasked with developing analytics insights and recommendations to assist architecture strategy and engineering toward a cloud‑hosted platform and capability model brokerage platform.
