Power BI engineer with Databricks

Thereportingdesigner role offers the opportunity to work with state‑of‑the‑art technologies, collaborate with a passionate team focused on automation and business transformation, contribute to impactful projects that shape BEC’s future.

At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also have the opportunity to work remotely up to 8 days per month. Your direct manager will be Pawel Karwowski.

Primary tasks and responsibilities
  • Build and maintain state‑of‑the‑art reports
  • Analyze required sources of information and choose method of cyclic data pulls
  • Choose proper, right‑for‑purpose reporting tooling balancing complexity and ease of maintenance
  • Design data model of underlying reporting database
  • If needed, design business workflows to collect source data in a structured way even before reports are created
  • Collect requirements from report receivers and advise alternative approaches
  • Be in close contact with report receivers and stakeholders while reports are designed and built out (frequent feedback from Operations, Risk & Compliance, Facility Management, Security, Architecture, and other BEC functions)
  • Occasional travel to Denmark/Poland as required for team collaboration and stakeholder meetings
  • Continuous improvement of reporting processes
  • Knowledge sharing within the team
Tech stack
  • Power BI reporting, DAX language, SQL queries
  • Databricks (Dashboards, SQL Editor, PySpark/Spark SQL, notebooks)
  • Optional technologies available if needed: Power Queries, ServiceNow Reports / Performance Analytics, Rich Filters for Jira Dashboards, Kibana, Power Automate, Power Apps, Azure Data Factories, Azure Synapse Analytics
Qualifications
  • 3–4 years of experience in Power BI reporting (DAX language required)
  • 1–2 years of experience in Databricks reporting
  • Experience in report design, data analysis, and stakeholder management
  • Familiarity with PySpark or Spark SQL for large‑scale data processing
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Active listening, effective communication, ability to understand and advise on stakeholder needs, hunger for knowledge, quick and effective research skills
  • Proficiency in M365 Copilot and/or GitHub Copilot – our team is an AI‑first team, which is a mindset to use AI for efficiency every day plus constantly try our new AI features and upgraded models to look for new efficiency opportunities
Nice‑to‑have
  • Experience with Power Queries, ServiceNow, Jira, Kibana, Power Automate, Power Apps, Azure Data Factories, Azure Synapse Analytics
