Basic Grade Medical Scientist – Full time Permanent Contract

Vacancy

We have a vacancy for a qualified Basic Grade Medical Scientist to join our friendly, supportive laboratory team and contribute to the development and expansion of our service and hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who wish to join a dynamic and growing team. Our medium‑sized multidisciplinary laboratory provides the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge and facilitates career progression. The laboratory encompasses Biochemistry, Microbiology, Point of Care, Coagulation, and ISO 15189:2022 accredited Haematology, Blood Transfusion specialities.

Candidate Requirements
  • CORU‑registered Medical Scientist
  • Eligible for membership of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine
  • Experience of ISO 15189 (essential) and JCI hospital accreditation (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a hospital laboratory setting is preferable – laboratory experience in a non‑clinical setting will also be considered
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to work in a demanding fast environment
  • Enthusiasm, adaptability and a willingness to co‑operate
  • Team player who is also able to work on their own initiative
