We are seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Accountant to take responsibility for the overall financial accounting of LKQ Ireland, while also supporting the UK month-end close. This role involves ownership of monthly postings, variance analysis, and reporting to LKQ Europe, alongside ensuring accuracy and integrity across all balance sheet reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and process month-end close postings, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

Maintain detailed balance sheet reconciliations for the Republic of Ireland (ROI).

Support the production and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packs for ROI to LKQ Corporation, including variance analysis.

Assist with the preparation and submission of monthly US GAAP accounting adjustments.

Review management control compliance during close processes, ensuring submissions adhere to LKQ Corp policies.

Respond to internal and external audit queries in a timely and professional manner.

Manage and resolve VAT and Corporation Tax enquiries and perform related analysis for the ROI entity.

Complete external reporting and submission requirements to Revenue and other government bodies.

Safeguard the integrity of financial data shared across the business.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial controls and close procedures.

Skills and Experience

Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant.

Proven experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.

Strong analytical ability with excellent Excel and data interpretation skills.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with non-finance colleagues.

Capable of working independently, using initiative to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.

A driven, hands-on individual with a commitment to high standards and continuous improvement.

Experience managing a small team preferred.

Background in FMCG, logistics, or multi-site operations is advantageous.

Experience with US GAAP is desirable.
