Job description
Role Overview:

Reporting to the Fee Recovery Manager in the Bar of Ireland under Lawserv, the onsite Legal Administrator is responsible for the day‑to‑day administration of the Fee Recovery service and will be the main contact for members using this service.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Updating and maintaining the caseload system on a daily basis, capturing all activities
  • Scanning and saving all relevant correspondence to the system
  • Issuing sign‑up packs to counsel, creating client online accounts, and releasing login details to service users
  • Engage in a detailed fee collection process including issuing of collection letters, emails, and phone calls with defaulting solicitors
  • Responding to a high volume of solicitor and member queries
  • Drafting and issuing complaints to the Legal Services Regulatory Authority (LSRA) on behalf of members
  • Corresponding with the LSRA on a regular basis
  • Attending meetings with management and updating the Bar of Ireland weekly statistical reports
  • Assist with training of new team members where necessary
  • Ad hoc duties relevant to the role of Legal Administrator

Requirements:
  • Relevant academic or professional third‑level qualification e.g., Business, Accounting, or Law
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office – Outlook/Excel/Word
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, use initiative and problem‑solve
  • Proven ability to manage a wide range of internal and external stakeholder relationships, including at senior levels, and to engage with people with diverse viewpoints and backgrounds
  • Friendly, approachable, and personable with a can‑do, helpful manner.
