Job summary

A leading Irish building contractor is seeking an experienced Junior Estimator to assist Senior Estimators on various projects. This role involves reviewing tender documentation, preparing pricing packages, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Candidates should have a relevant degree in Quantity Surveying/Engineering, at least one year of relevant experience, and excellent communication skills. About the Role

You will be joining a leading Irish building main contractor committed to the highest standards of safety, quality and sustainability with an earned reputation for delivering outstanding quality projects which meet and exceed our client’s expectations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to support the Senior Estimators on selected projects in compliance with Company policy and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Review and assessment of tender documentation including interpreting drawings, specifications, reports and general scope of works requirements.
  • Preparation of consultant, subcontractor and material packages for pricing using latest estimating software.
  • Review and preparation of consultant, subcontractor and materials cost analysis for cost comparison purposes.
  • Continuous management of tender documents.
  • Pricing and review of preliminaries items for review by senior management.
  • Assistance in the completion and return of tender documents.
  • Assistance in the preparation of project handover reports including collation of the necessary and associated documentation.
  • Preparation and maintenance of estimating data for reports and tender application.
Qualifications
  • Hold relevant diploma or degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction related discipline.
Required Skills
  • Will ideally be from a main contractor background with relevant onsite operations experience and/or good technical knowledge.
  • Will possess Minimum 1 year relevant experience.
  • Have good ability to read drawings, specification and reports with capability to assess issues and risk.
  • Be a clear and concise communicator with an aptitude for problem solving and thinking outside the box.
  • Have the capability of working on his/her own initiatives and as part of a team.
  • Be able to work accurately and efficiently while managing own time to meet critical deadlines.
  • Be proficient in word and excel and a knowledge of Conquest a plus.
  • Hold a valid driving licence.
