Job description

Based in our Naas office, Howden is delighted to have a vacancy as an Insurance account handler that will be part of our J.F.Dunne team. This is a full‑time, office‑based working opportunity.

About the role

Reporting to the Personal Lines Manager, the main function will be to assist Account Executives in providing clients with appropriate advice and high‑quality service. The role requires treating customers fairly, adhering to regulatory obligations, upholding a professional image and maximizing business opportunities and profit for the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritise and handle all work promptly and accurately.
  • Handle all queries, whether written or by telephone, in a professional manner and process them effectively in line with service standards.
  • Produce accurate and professional documentation at all times.
  • Process adjustments in line with procedures, including notification to insurers, issuing revised documentation, and collection of additional premium.
  • Refer all queries that fall outside own experience, knowledge, or authority to senior staff.
  • Issue renewal documentation and perform data input.
  • Deal with client payments in line with Howden procedures.
About You
  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to assist clients with inquiries, providing prompt and courteous service.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and deadlines, maintaining organized records, and supporting account handlers in day‑to‑day administrative duties.
  • Ability to meticulously handle and review policy documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team, supporting account handlers and collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals and deliver exceptional service to clients.
