Our client, a leading power engineering provider to industrial, utility and renewable sectors across Ireland and the UK, is seeking an experienced High Voltage / Medium Voltage Design Engineer to join their growing team.

Role Overview

You will support the design and delivery of HV/MV substation and power system projects, producing high-quality technical documentation and collaborating closely with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop HV/MV substation drawings, schematics, protection and control circuits.
• Produce panel layouts and installation drawings using Eplan and AutoCAD.
• Perform protection studies and configure protection/communication devices (ETAP).
• Prepare Functional Design Specifications and detailed automation/control system designs.
• Manage material take-offs, submittals, equipment procurement tracking, and documentation.
• Attend project meetings and ensure designs are constructible, compliant, and aligned with ISO standards.
• Support O&M manuals, as-built documentation, and technical coordination with suppliers.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ HV/MV design experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with Eplan, AutoCAD, ETAP is an advantage.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
