The Role:

The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for providing direction, leadership, advice and delivering on site activities relating to Health and Safety management in collaboration with the site management team. The Health and Safety Manager will ensure the development and promotion of a best-in-class safety culture on site through the implementation of the company health and safety strategy in conjunction with the wider business health and safety team, the site management team, and all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing and delivering workplace health and safety policies and procedures across the sites.
  • Contribute to health and safety initiatives within the business to drive a positive safety culture.
  • Develop creative and innovative solutions and interventions, to support the drive for proactive safety management working closely with colleagues to ensure consistency across sites.
  • Oversee the delivery of health & safety training including for example manual handling, first aid and fire warden training.
  • Advise management on a range of specialist areas, e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, working at height, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseases.
  • Carrying out H&S Inspections.
  • Improve site communication and attend site safety meetings.
  • Lead accident/incident investigations and produce reports with root cause analysis.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will come from a similar background and will be looking for the next challenge in their career. Self-starting and motivated, applicants will also need to satisfy the following:

Criteria:

  • Relevant Health and Safety Qualification
  • Minimum 5 years Health & Safety Management experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • Strong communication influencing skills
