Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Safety Manager to oversee and implement safety programs for solar construction and installation projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, developing risk mitigation strategies, and fostering a culture of safety among employees and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and manage safety policies and procedures for solar projects.

  • Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and other relevant regulations.

  • Train employees and subcontractors on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper use of protective equipment.

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of safety compliance, incidents, and training records.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to proactively address safety concerns.

  • Stay updated on industry safety standards, technologies, and best practices to enhance safety programs.

  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills.

  • Monitor environmental compliance and hazardous material handling related to solar installation.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or renewable energy safety management.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30/OSHA 500, or similar safety certifications preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and solar energy industry regulations.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and travel to project sites as needed.

  • Proficiency in safety management software and reporting tools.
