Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join a leading retailer's distribution centre in Naas, County Kildare. You will be responsible for two sites in Naas and Mitchelstown. Travel to the Mitchelstown site will be required as needed. This position is offered on a 15-month fixed-term contract.

Role Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Senior Health & Safety Manager, ensure compliance with health and safety, fire safety, food safety, and trading legislation.
  • Lead and manage a team of Health and Safety Specialists operating across two regions.
  • Provide strategic direction for implementing the company’s health and safety standards across all operational areas.
  • Chair and lead health and safety working groups and projects to promote best practices and consistency across the business.
  • Oversee the company’s response to enforcement actions or regulatory interventions within the designated regions.
  • Conduct investigations into serious accidents and incidents, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the Health and Safety Authority.
  • Coordinate ongoing reviews of national documentation to ensure alignment with Irish regulatory requirements.
Role Requirements
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or an equivalent degree-level qualification in H&S or Environmental Health.
  • Experience in managing and coaching a team of health and safety professionals.
  • Ideally experience in health and safety within Retail, Logistics or Food Safety.
  • Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation.
  • You have a full and valid driving licence.
