In this capacity, GSAMFSL delegates Portfolio Management but maintains the oversight responsibility for robust portfolio management and risk management, including sustainability risk, by all delegates, both internal and external.

Goldman Sachs Fund Services Limited (GSAMFSL) is management company and global distributor of the GS Alternative Investment Fund and UCITS Fund range. In this capacity, GSAMFSL delegates Portfolio Management but maintains the oversight responsibility for robust portfolio management and risk management, including sustainability risk, by all delegates, both internal and external.

The Investment Management oversight team is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the Portfolio Management teams who undertake this delegated service. The team oversee close to 200 funds across all major asset classes using a variety of different strategies. The candidate will help the team evaluate the processes used to invest and their appropriateness across all these funds.

The team interacts with a variety of key stakeholders in the wider GSAM business, allowing the candidate to gain exposure across Portfolio Management, Trading, Product Development, Legal, Compliance and Risk. The candidate will be required to manage ongoing responsibilities and relationships through regular meetings and oversight of the teams carrying out functions related to portfolio management. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a multi-faceted role within Goldman Sachs, and be a key contributor as the entity looks to enhance its oversight function and support new product launches.

Separately the candidate will also be responsible for co-ordination and governance support for one of our funds Boards and will be tasked with all the associated processes and controls around this Board.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supporting the Investment Management Designated Person (IM DP) with analysis of performance, investment process and strategy Management Information (MI) relating to the GS funds
• Supporting the IM DP with the production of regular reporting metrics and presentations including IM DP Board reporting with particular focus on the integration of sustainability risk within each portfolio
• Regularly engaging with the stakeholder teams carrying out functions related to portfolio management
• Supporting the IM DP in reviewing policy materials and assessing their effectiveness
• Consolidate board materials within set deadlines and provide to all stakeholders, including Directors, legal and counsel.
• Co-ordinate and track implementation of Board Action Items.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years of financial services experience
• Comfort with data extraction, manipulation and visualization from a variety of sources.
• Knowledgeable about the mutual fund industry and general interest in financial services
• Ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and delegates across the organisation
• Ability to work to deadlines, and adapt in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Strong organizational, business writing, communication and time management skills.
• Desire to continually learn and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• CFA or willingness to work towards the qualification.
• Familiarity with ESG regulation and its implications for the funds industry (particularly SFDR, Taxonomy, MiFID II)
• Experience in a control focused role or a front office environment
