Job description

Marine Life Aquarium

Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland

We are looking to hire a General Manager for our new aquarium in Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland.

The General Manager will:

  • Maximise the number of visitors to the aquarium.
  • Be responsible for planning, staff management, finance, health & safety of the aquarium.
  • Deliver the highest level of customer service, staff recruitment, and training.
  • Develop marketing plans and work within budgets.
  • Work closely with Directors, managing reports and budgets.

The main duties of your role will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for opening and closing the premises.
  • Managing the reception and shop area, maintaining stock levels of products and office supplies.
  • Staffing the premises, including hiring and staff care in collaboration with the senior management team.
  • Setting up and developing marketing strategies.
  • Adhering to budgets set by Directors.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly financial reports and budgets, managing end-of-day cash reports.
  • Handling general office duties, customer queries, and complaints.
  • Ensuring daily cleaning and maintenance of the aquarium in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Working closely with the Head Aquarist.
  • Observing fire, health, and safety procedures, participating in drills.
  • Reporting incidents and completing relevant documentation.
  • Overseeing daily operations of the aquarium and staff.
