Primary Purpose

Prepare cost estimates for construction project bids, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service.

Routine Duties

• Takeoff self-performed items.
• Make cold calls to insure proper subcontractor coverage.
• Attend pre-bid conferences.
• Search online for upcoming projects
• Set up and estimate projects using ProEst software.
• Download Prints.
• Prep information and coordinate project turn over meetings.
• Prepare budgets.
• Review and compare scopes.
• Meet with potential customers.
• Review specs, drawings and addendums.
• Set up projects in Building Connected software.
  
  

Preferred Knowledge

• ProEst software.
• Builders Connected subcontract management software.
• Strong concrete, general contracting and carpentry estimating knowledge.
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: AS Technology/Engineering/CAD/Math, related, or equivalent experience
• 3 years commercial self-preform general construction estimating experience
• Extensive math skills
• Blueprint and spec reading
• Strong computer skills
• Good communicator
