The Heritage offers a sophisticated elegance with impeccable hospitality set in wonderful un-spoilt Laois countryside. It comprises of a luxury world class Hotel and European Award Winning Spa. The Heritage also offers guests a number of on site activities such as our Health Club with Leisure Pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam rooms, 5km Walking Track and Cinema.
We are currently looking to hire a Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our existing team.
Job Purpose
To be responsible for guests needs in respect of all food & beverage service required in the applicable department and to maintain standards at all times. To be responsible for the supervision and direction of all food & beverage colleagues. To uphold the standards and ethos of the food & beverage areas. To meet and greet all guests in a courteous and professional manner.
MAIN DUTIES
O To ensure the licensing laws are adhered to at all times.
O To be responsible for the supervision, training and development of food & beverage colleagues.
O To be fully familiar with the Departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) and Preferred Standards ensuring all colleagues are trained in same.
O To assist the Departmental Manager with the weekly / monthly stock takes in the Food & beverage areas.
O To liase with stores to ensure the timely supply of food and beverage stocks.
O To ensure an environment exists which promotes colleague morale & encourages the team to have pride & commitment in their area of work.
O To coach the team to maximise sales opportunities in order to meet sales targets. Ensuring that all colleagues are fully conversant on all products and services within the Hotel and are able to upsell at every opportunity.
O To maintain close communication with all members of the management team within the hotel to ensure the smooth & efficient running of the departments.
O Responsibility for the security of cash within the food & beverage areas. Subsequently, you should maintain a high level of observation & never leave cash in an open drawer or on work surfaces.
O To ensure correct use of supplies by implementing, reviewing and amending stock control procedures to ensure the highest level of food and beverage management and stock control.
O To complete all HACCP documentation as required.
O To implement and maintain all company policies & procedures.
O To ensure all hygiene regulations & procedures are adhered to at all times.
O To provide support in other areas of the hotel if necessary.
O Ensure all colleagues wear correct uniform, name badge & preferred pin at all times.
O Responsibility for the day to day maintenance of the department, however where there is a maintenance issue that needs professional attention you must report it.
O To ensure all staff have been trained in complaint handling and that complaints are dealt with in a courteous and sympathetic fashion and reported to the Managing Director if necessary.
O To promote hotel facilities, ensuring all your colleagues are trained to promote sales within the hotel.
O To work towards achieving high hotel inspection results.
HEALTH & SAFETY
O To fulfil your obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 2005 & 2010 and any revisions or additional legislation made thereto.
O To ensure that reasonable care is taken for health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other persons on the premises.
O To keep work areas tidy and safe and report any hazard, loss or damage to management.
O To be aware of trained first-aid colleagues on the premises and the location of first aid box.
O To observe all safety rules and procedures, including those laid down in the Safety Statement.
O To carry out and promote fire and accident/other safety drills as directed by HR Department.
O To carry out continuous Health & Safety training and re-training with employees.
O To participate in all Health and Safety training scheduled for you and your team.
O To inform Management immediately in the event that you are personally involved in any accident or incident on the hotel grounds or if you are witness to an accident or incident involving a third party. All accidents/incidents must be recorded in the Incident Reports.
