A leading company in the SaaS industry is seeking a Financial Accountant to support the monthly financial management accounts process. We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to assist in the delivery of the monthly financial management accounts process. Being a global SaaS offering we have clients located in many regions around the world. This will not phase the ideal candidate who will be happy learning about financial, taxation and audit regulations in different geographical regions.
The role will primarily involve supporting the delivery of the monthly management accounts process, working closely with two Financial Accountants, an Accounts Payable Assistant, and the Payroll Manager. You will assist in presenting fully reconciled management accounts to the Finance Manager on a monthly basis, together with an analysis and explanation of variances. This is a long term career opportunity to gain exposure and valuable experience across all areas of the accounting function for a rapidly growing international SaaS company.
You will join a dynamic team of accounting professionals and you will receive in-house training on the role. If you work hard and are ambitious, this position offers great opportunities for career progression.
You will play a key role in our month-end close and financial control processes, including:
Taking ownership of all key P&L accounts
Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
Managing tax filing and reporting across multiple regions
Conducting revenue analysis across seven financial jurisdictions
Continuously reviewing and improving processes. with a focus on automation
Staying up to date with changes in accounting, reporting, and auditing standards, and implementing necessary updates
Supporting the year-end audit process to ensure timely delivery of Group Financial Statements
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
Collaborating with managers and team leaders to keep on top of timelines
For the right candidate, there will be excellent exposure to wider areas of the Financial Control function, including:
Preparing monthly management accounts and financial analysis
Supporting company-wide and board-level reporting
Assisting with budgeting and budget variance analysis
Contributing to finance presentations for senior stakeholders
Participating in finance automation initiatives
Assisting with corporate and indirect tax compliance
Working on a variety of ad-hoc finance projects.
A third level degree, preferably in Business or related discipline and a professional accounting qualification (ACCA / ACA)
Recently qualified as an Accountant /2+ years experience in a Finance team
Strong excel, google sheets and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills
The ability to plan & prioritise, and deliver according to agreed timelines
Ability to think of creative and innovative solutions, making improvements through automation
Administrative skills and robust attention to detail
Project management skills are an advantage but not essential
Familiarity with SaaS business models and key metrics is a plus
NetSuite, G-Suite experience is also an advantage
