We are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant (Hydrology) to join our existing team. This position is ideal for a Project Consultant or Senior Project Consultant with experience in hydrology and a focus on EIA projects for infrastructure, particularly in renewable energy.

Role Overview:

As an Environmental Consultant in Hydrology at McCloy Consulting, you will be involved in delivering hydrology workstreams for EIA projects, initially supporting a variety of renewable energy and grid infrastructure developments. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, providing hydrological expertise to ensure sustainable and regulatory-compliant solutions for infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct and lead hydrology assessments for EIA projects, including fieldwork and mapping.
• Advise on water resource management, flood risk, and surface water drainage.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, impact assessments, and regulatory submissions.
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory bodies.
• For senior roles: Oversee project delivery, mentor junior staff, and manage client relationships. Provide clear, concise advice to our clients and design teams.

Qualifications & Skills:

• A degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Water Resources, or a related field.
• Experience in environmental assessments for infrastructure projects, – experience and knowledge of renewable energy or grid infrastructure projects would be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of hydrological assessments and water resource management practices.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in NI / Ireland / GB.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools (GIS).
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• For senior roles: Experience in project management, mentoring, and client engagement.
