Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager to join a leading packaging manufacturer based in the greater Dublin area. This pivotal role will oversee maintenance, engineering, and project management for, with potential involvement across wider site operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence through proactive maintenance strategies, CAPEX project delivery, and strong leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a Safety First culture across all engineering and maintenance activities.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance team and external contractors.
• Develop and implement a preventative maintenance programme to minimise downtime and optimise production.
• Manage and deliver CAPEX projects from feasibility through to commissioning, ensuring timelines, budgets, and safety standards are met.
• Maintain and improve site facilities and production equipment to meet performance targets.
• Collaborate with HSE and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support training and development of operational staff.

Criteria

• Proven experience in a maintenance or engineering management role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of CAPEX project management, including contractor oversight and commissioning.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Familiarity with HAZOP, SOPs, and regulatory compliance.
