Job summary

A major European airline is seeking an experienced Engine Workshop Manager to lead the new MRO facility for CFM56 and LEAP engines. You will oversee workshop activities, drive LEAN processes, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years in engine maintenance. Job description

Ryanair are currently recruiting for a Engine Workshop Manager to join Europe’s Largest Airline Group!
This is a very exciting time to join Ryanair as we look to expand our operation to 800 aircraft and 300 million guests within the next 10 years.
To help with this, Ryanair needs you to assist with the day-to-day running of our new Engine MRO Facility!
Working closely with our other engineering teams you will help to ensure that adequate spares are available to support our operational needs.

Your duties will include:

  • A highly motivated and dynamic individual to lead the workshop Gate 2 development for a new CFM56-7B and Leap 1B Engine MRO.
  • Provide leadership in the attainment of goals with respect to safety, quality, cost, and turn-around time.
  • Implement and drive LEAN repair and inspection flow processes between Gate’s 1 and 3, with special attention to Cleaning, NDT, Inspection, and repair methods such as Balancing and Grinding.
  • Select, hire, develop, and provide ongoing leadership and direction of personnel ensuring effective management of workshop activities & capabilities.
  • Ensuring the competence of personnel engaged in workshop maintenance and assist in establishing an initial programme of training across all Gate 2 processes.
  • Assist in the vendor selection and set up of Gate 2 workshop tooling and equipment ensuring the calibration of all tools & equipment are set up and maintained.
  • Ensuring the storage of parts, tools, equipment, and materials meet regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development of the MOE and its content including the associated procedures, manuals, and the submission of proposed amendments to the Compliance Monitoring function.
  • Ensuring that the satisfactory completion and certification of all workshop maintenance required is completed IAW the work scope requested, company procedures, and associated Engine Manuals.
  • Ensuring sub-contract orders are processed correctly and that the requirements of the contract/order are fulfilled in respect of inspection and Quality control.
  • Ensuring quality deficiencies which arise from independent compliance reviews are managed effectively, and all defects are responded to within agreed timeline.
  • Ensuring the procedures & processes for completion of maintenance documentation and storage of maintenance records is adhered to.
  • Ensuring ERP and maintenance data inaccuracies are being reported IAW Workshop procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul shop, with specific experience on CFM56 and LEAP engine Gate 2 processes.
  • The ideal candidate will also have operated as a Gate 2 Lead or Inspector with the appropriate Approvals.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills as this will be required during the MRO shop ramp up.
