Electronic Hardware Engineer

As an Electronic Hardware Engineer, you will play a key role in advancing Sonova’s engineering capabilities through the introduction of new technologies and world‑class practices. You will represent the engineering department’s requirements across all electronic hardware matters, while ensuring that our goals, targets, and objectives are consistently achieved through collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Your work will directly contribute to the development of high‑quality electro‑acoustic products that enhance lives around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the manufacturing operation through new technology introduction, training, process optimization, and cost‑saving initiatives
  • Provide specialist electronic and problem‑solving support for production, including amplifier testing, UCT issues, and other hardware components
  • Design, develop, and refine test equipment and processes, defining user requirements and translating them into technical specifications
  • Source or manufacture test equipment and infrastructure as required
  • Develop electronic hardware modules using CAD tools and maintain all associated documentation and technical reports
  • Manage the implementation of test platform upgrades and support CE certification processes
  • Train colleagues on test and acoustic equipment and maintain spare part inventories
  • Ensure equipment performance meets operational efficiency targets and uphold safety and 5S standards
  • Troubleshoot technical problems, identify root causes, and implement effective engineering solutions
  • Support commissioning, validation, and knowledge transfer activities within the production environment

More about you:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering with a minimum of 1 year of full‑time industrial experience in the development and manufacture of electronic test equipment
  • Experience using PCB design software (e.g., Eagle) from design to integration
  • Knowledge of EMC‑sensitive design and CE marking requirements
  • Skilled in CAD tools and familiar with fabrication techniques such as cutting, drilling, and milling
  • Experience with documentation control and calibration of measurement equipment is desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Methodical, detail‑oriented, and highly organized
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluent in English
